Children's Fairyland

Today, we went to Children's Fairyland in Oakland, California, a ten-acre outdoor storybook park with children's fairy tale theme.

This was the first theme park in the United States and was built in 1950 to cater specially to families with young children. It was reported that even Walt Disney came to Fairyland to get ideas for Disneyland.

We were greeted by this bubble machine when we first entered the park. Bubbles are beautiful. Bubbles are magical. They always never fail to bring smiles to children and adults alike.

The Three Little Pigs

Our little Sheri had fun playing in the pigs' houses.

Alice in the Wonderland.
Can our little girl find her way out of the maze?

Miss Muffet and the Spider

A wishing well

There was also a small farm in the park, which of course, is our little girl's favourite hunt.
Here comes this over-zealous girl, petting the baby goat.

We finally had a chance to see the Alpaca, which was one of the animals that she learnt from the 'Animal Adventure' episode on 'Wheels on the Bus' CD

There were also gentle rides in the park, specially catered for small children.

Merry-go-round

Playing with the water fountains in the park.

Posing with a flower girl

Sitting on a dragon

Another favourite place for our little girl........ the sandbox.

Overcoming the obstacle's course with daddy

After all the fun and play, our little girl finally fell asleep on our way home. Before we left, we took a picture at Lake Merrit which is just outside the Children's Fairyland.

We took the Bart(Bay Area Transit) home. Doesn't the Bart Station look similar to that in Singapore?
